2017 Picking Season
Cherries start to bloom in April. Since the flower formation, it takes about 2 months for them to grow and become a beautiful and delicious fruit. We expect to start picking at the end of June.
The English word cherry, French cerise, Spanish cereza, and Turkish kiraz all derive from the Latin cerasum, which referred to an ancient Greek region which today is the city of Giresun, Turkey from which cherries were first thought to be exported to Europe (wikipedia.org/wiki/cherry) The fruit is light to deep dark red in colour and round in shape. The fruit is juicy and sweet with the hint of tartness and succulent flavour.
